The STEM Pathway includes many careers that deal in critical thinking, research, innovation and the latest technological advances. Engineers and technicians design and build things and are important in all kinds of manufacturing, especially at the earliest stages when products and processes are being created and refined. Learners who pursue a career in science will be involved in planning, managing, and providing scientific research and professional and technical services including laboratory and testing services, and research and development services. Students who enjoy discovering the various uses of computers and new technology or have a mind for math concepts should also consider exploring this Pathway.
Our Project Lead the Way Pathways are included under the STEM umbrella. Project Lead the Way is a nonprofit organization that provides schools nationwide with a strong STEM curriculum that helps students explore career interests and become creative problem solvers. There are two PLTW Pathways that students can take:

1) Project Lead the Way: Engineering

If students would like to pursue a career in STEM but do not want to participate in Project Lead the Way, they can create their own pathway. To create a personal pathway, students should look at the classes in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Pathway and find courses that are relevant to learning about their career interest. Students should start with an introductory course, choose at least two subsequent courses, and aim to end their pathway with an AP Course, Capstone Course, Dual Enrollment Course, or Internship. The pathway should be at least 4 credits. A description of each course is listed at the end of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Pathway document.
Below you will find an example of how you can create your own pathway:
Students in both Freedom and Liberty's ESOL programs are able to pursue a special Medical Exploration Pathway created just for them:
